Slowly settling in

Oh, where to start about the past six weeks…

We are in our new place in Manhattan, KS. Monica’s in the midst of a work Zoom right now as I take stock of things. There are still so many boxes to dig through, but, little by little, we’re making our new home.

Trying to utilize movers turned into a disaster. Let me post this warning for all: if you go to deal with finding movers online for a state-to-state move, try to avoid brokers. We got jobbed bad on that deal. Wound up paying double and none of the promised move and arrival dates held up. We, luckily, only suffered a couple of losses, but the capper was the mover contracted on this end had to hire locals off Craigslist to move our stuff in. That was a week later than we were promised that things would be here.

I have been utilizing my time to do the bulk of the unpacking and organizing, freeing Monica up to deal with her work as the job at UNC continues for her. It’s also meant, however, that I’ve not set up my recording stuff yet to put together a new podcast entry. That will change in the next couple of weeks, so be on the lookout for the return of “Coverdale’s Corner”.

One of the advantages of our new home is that we have an extra room for using as an office, but we’ll have to find the right balance between her needs for work and me getting a few minutes to put together a podcast. Somehow, I think we’ll work that out…
